The next SSECR Junior Network - Writing Retreat will take place from 27 to 30 September 2024 at the Mariazell Wurmsbach Monastery on Lake Zurich. The retreat is directed to all members of the SSECR Junior Network, and other interested PhD students within the field (Early Childhood Research).

Please save the dates for the next annual scientific meeting of the SSECR, which will take place on January 21 & 22, 2025, in Basel.

This year, our writing retreat took place in February (24th to 27th) at the "Kloster Mariazell" on Lake Zurich.

Dear Members and Friends of the Swiss Society for Early Childhood Research We cordially invite submissions for the 5th Annual Meeting of the Swiss Society for Early Childhood Research (SSECR), an interdisciplinary conference that brings together scientists from various disciplines in early childhood research. Authors are kindly invited to submit their suggestions for oral presentation, poster presentations or symposium.

This year's meeting will be jointly organised by the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences and Thurgau University of Teacher Education.

Unfortunately, we had to cancel this year's planned Second Interdisciplinary Junior Academy on the topic "Thinking together and out of the box" due to insufficient registrations. We are very grateful to our Academy Organizing Committee for all the hard work that they put in over the last year putting together an exciting program.

#comebackstronger: This was the topic of this years annual meeting of the "Swiss Society for Early Childhood Research" (SSECR). "Research on early childhood is central and highly relevant to special education," says Andrea Lanfranchi, professor at the HfH and co-organiser of the SSECR Annual Meeting. Therefore, the HfH offers a platform for researchers from different countries to present their findings.

It has been long in the making, so we are delighted to announce that registration for the Pre-Conference and Third Annual Meeting of the Swiss Society of Early Childhood Research, themed "#comebackstronger", is now open.

Dear Members and Friends of the Swiss Society for Early Childhood Research We cordially invite submissions for the First Perinatal Research Special Interest Group Symposium of the Swiss Society for Early Childhood Research (SSECR), a conference that brings together scientists from diverse disciplines and professions in perinatal research. Authors are kindly invited to submit their suggestions for oral presentation.

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is extended until the 9th of June 2021! The Third Annual Meeting of the Swiss Society for Early Childhood Research (SSECR) will take place on November 23th and 24th 2021 in Zurich, Switzerland. Please see the attached Call for Abstracts.

Every month there is the opportunity for a zoom-meeting among SSECR Juniors (potential new members are always welcome to participate in an event to get familiar). The aim is to get in touch with each other in a relaxed atmosphere with coffee or tee and to connect Early Career Researchers in the field of early childhood research. The event takes place online on changing workdays at 1pm. Usually, we first split up in random groups of two to get to know each other in person (it is easier to communicate this way than in big groups). At 1:15pm there will be a short, creative presentation by one of us about a PhD- or work related project. At 1:30 there is the possibility to opt out and get back to work (since your mug will probably be empty by then) or keep discussing the project and other issues that you would like to talk about among peers. This discussion will be moderated (e.g. by a member of the organising committee).

Due to the Corona Pandemic, this conference will take place in hybrid form, with slots available on site in Zurich at the University of Applied Sciences in Special Needs Education (HfH). It will also be possibility to participate digitally.
